New in Winter 2009/10

Higher, further, faster- this is the motto from the Aberg Hinterthal Lift Company who are investing 30 million Euro in the expansion of the Hochkönig ski resort.

The expansion for our 3 new projects commences this summer:

• New 6-seat chair lift Schwarzeckalmbahn

• New ski slope from Hinterthal -  Hintermoos

• New snow makers in Hinterthal – Hintermoos

In stage 1, (implementation 2009) the snow making in the Hinterthal area including the construction of a reservoir with approx 60,000 cubic meters and a modern 6-seat chair lift which is to replace the Schwarzeckalm double chair lift from the 80’s will take place. The Schwarzeckalm valley station will be moved to the opposite side of the Handler stream and therefor guarantees continuous skiing connection to the slopes.
The ski slope Hinterthal to Hintermoos will be newly built with modern snow making facilities.

In stage 2, the construction of a 3,7 kilometer long cable car and ski slope will be created to connect Hinterthal to Hintermoos. A new ski centre with a parking area, shops and sale office will also be built at the valley station.

In stage 3, the Hochmaisbahn will also be replaced by a 6-seat chair lift.
