Already conquered enough pistes in the Hochkönig ski resort? Then it's time to try ski touring! This popular winter sport involves walking up the mountain on skis using "skins", before whizzing back down through powder fields. Those who prefer to stay down on the valley floor will find 40 km of prepared cross-country skiing trails. The Langlaufloipe Gasteg is even floodlit in the evenings for those who simply can't get enough.
Tip! The high altitude trail at the Arthurhaus in Mühlbach and at the Dientner Sattel offers spectacular views of the mountains.

The winter landscape around Maria Alm is a huge outdoor playground just waiting to be explored.
